Splinter

Splinter is a mid-range content management system (CMS) based upon strong enterprise proven architectures for building web sites with microcontent. Designed and developed by Australian company Aggmedia, it is specifically tailored for online media presentation, such as video and audio.

Splinter contains the following features not usually found in an entry level CMS.

  • Fully version controlled microntent. Every change is recorded and preserved permanently and may be restored immediately at any time.
  • No configuration or customisation will ever require SQL or database changes. New content types, the data model, plug ins, they're all database independant.
  • Content item level security system which is completely customisable.
  • Distributed network allows multiple sites to share the same content items and version history.
  • Fully customisabled RSS support, allow feeds of any item of any content type at any time.
  • Fully customisable data model. Build your own item graph, and have it reflected on the site for users to view and/or manipulate.
